How we handle your photos and details

Draft for legal review. This text is a plain-language starting point and must be reviewed by counsel (CCPA/CPRA, and GDPR if EU clients are served) before public launch.

What we collect

Your first name, an Instagram username and/or an email address (at least one, so we can reach you), where you are based if you tell us, the answers you give in the questionnaire, your appointment plans, and the photos you upload: front, left side, right side, back, and optionally a haircut you like.

Why

Solely to prepare a personal hair styling consultation for you and to deliver it to you, by email or as a private link. If you tick the optional box at the end of the questionnaire, we may also use your submission privately to improve how we consult; we never publish it. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

AI assistance and human review

We may use AI-assisted tools to help analyse photos and draft text. A professional stylist reviews and approves every recommendation before it is sent. Nothing is sent to you automatically.

Storage and retention

Photos are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket, encrypted in transit and at rest, and are only ever opened through short-lived signed links by your stylist. Photos are deleted automatically 60 days after your recommendation is sent. The written consultation itself is kept so we can refer back to it if you have questions.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your photos and details at any time by replying to any email we send you. We will confirm once it is done.

Analytics

Our public pages keep their own count of visits so we can see which pages people reach and how long they stay: the pages viewed, the device type and browser family, the browser’s language, the theme shown, and, when you have asked for a consultation, whether your guide page was opened. Two random first-party cookies tell one visit from another; no IP address is stored and nothing identifies you by name. This is kept for a year. The landing page and questionnaire also use Google Analytics, with IP addresses anonymised and advertising features turned off; it never receives your answers, photos, name, or contact details, and it is not used on the page that holds your recommendation.

Not a guarantee

A consultation is a professional recommendation based on photographs. Please discuss it with your stylist in person before making changes; it is guidance, not a guarantee of a specific result.
